Tinwheeler - I spoke to the legal line at Caravan and Motorhome Club and whilst she was very helpful she said that under the Goods Act 2015 I have to give Swift the opportunity to repair the fault and unfortunately it's each new fault so I could end up going back and forward like a yo-yo.

Checkout the consumer rights act to see what your rights are, I’d also get some legal advise too, also did you get finance out, as the finance company can also help you get it sorted. armed with the correct information you can then approach the dealer with all the necessary information to get them to act as they should, repair your van. good luck

Hi. Sorry you have problems, if Elddis try to get out of doing anything when really they should (either by way of 10yr warranty or Consumer Rights Act 2015 - ie not fit for purpose etc) it may be worth your while getting an expert report from a Caravan Expert to prove that the problem lies with the construction and so the dealer/manufacturer are responsible.

The circumstances are: We took delivery of our new Elddis Avante 550 Caravan in late July 2017. Whilst away on a trip in late August we became aware of water running across the floor. I found the water to be coming from the water inlet pipe where it enters a t piece and then runs off to the kitchen sink.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the dealer must repair the window regardless of whether they gave you a guarantee or not. My advice is call them and and tell them the window is faulty and allowing water into the caravan and that you want it repaired.
